The Lil Bastard is a Tweed 59 Bassman 5F6A side by side with a Plexi style
circuit and
few personal tweaks to make it special, neatly handwired inside a
high quality American made chassis.
The single input allows the two circuits to
be blended or used separately. Two switches were added to make the amp more
configurable. One, the Plexi on/off switch to defeat the agressive Plexi tone and drive (when it is
not needed) and two, a Girth switch to beef up the Bassman
and Plexi gain.
Since the Bassman and the Plexi circuits have different values for
negative feedback a pot on the back allows you to dial in the
amount of extra “hair” to suit your ear. With humbuckers the amp goes from
“jazzy fat” to
complex power amp over drive with great harmonics. Depending on
settings you can
get a great JTM45 sound as well as straight Plexi snarl.
While the initial intent of the
amp was to be on its own without a pedal board, it is
a pedal board hound. Single coil guitars spank, and rip it up with a pedal
board.

Light weight grab and go pine cabinet is dovetail jointed. Cabinets are extra
deep for enhanced bass response. Baffle and back are furniture grade plywood,
custom built by Fusco cabinets. 1-12 combo features an internally angled up
speaker baffle so you don't play to your knees.
Controls include Tweed volume, Plexi volume, treble, middle, bass, presence,
Plexi on off bright switch, Girth switch.
Rear panel has On/0ff, standby, 2 speaker outs, control pot to adjust looseness
or tightness
20 watt model features a 4 ohm and 8 ohm output selector
40 watt
model features 4, 8, and 16 ohm selector.
Weight is about 40 pounds with an Eminence Swamp Thang loaded in it which is the
stock speaker for the 1-12 combo. 2-10 combo comes stock with Eminence Ragin
Cajuns or RamRods
